In 2008 I founded of Upstatement, a web design firm located in Boston (but we all have roots in Upstate NY — thus the name). We specialize in responsive websites for media companies (like BostonGlobe.com, which we designed in 2011). At Upstatement I direct projects and use WordPress to build and prototype sites. I was formally the newsroom developer at the Houston Chronicle and Boston Globe and an adjunct professor at MassArt. I graduated from Syracuse University in 2006 with a BA in Computer Art where I was also the Editor in Chief of The Daily Orange, one of the country’s oldest and most well-regarded student newspapers.
